Guitar Jamming Sessions/Lessons (Ages 11-15)SESSION 1 Each session will give participants the opportunities to learn how to play guitar as well as simply jam alone or with others. All genres of music can be explored. Skills taught will range from the very basics, such as how to find notes on each fret; to how to play (and with a clear understanding of, instead of simply memorizing) pentatonic scales in any key; to how to read notes, thus memorize songs using published tablature and improvise. Participants will have the chance to play solo or in pairs and even groups, but without any pressure to perform. The environment is very safe and fun, thus conducive to creativity and musical exploration. SUPPLIES/MATERIALS NEEDED: Bring your own guitar or guitars, amps, cords and sheet (or electronic) music. Instructor will have one 40 watt amp available. September 28 - October 29 (Every Mon. Wed. Th.) Three times a week totaling 15 sessions. (*No class Th. Holiday/Christmas Ornaments (Grades 1-5) Get into the holiday spirit and create beautiful keepsake ornaments for your home or Christmas tree! In this fun, hands-on class, participants will design and make a variety of festive ornaments using different materials, techniques and creative embellishments. All supplies are included, and each participant will leave with a few unique ornaments to display, give as gifts, or treasure for years to come. Wooden Robot (Grades 1-5) Get ready to build, create and take home your very own wooden robot! In this hands-on class, participants will assemble a wooden robot using pre-cut wooden pieces and learn basic construction techniques. Students will sand, assemble and personalize their robot with paint, markers and other creative decorations. No prior woodworking experience is needed and all materials are provided. Each participant will leave with a unique wooden robot they designed themselves. Perfect for young builders, makers and anyone who loves to create! LSH Youth Cross Country Team (Grades 2-6) Boys & Girls The LSH Youth Cross Country Team will introduce kids to the sport of cross country. Shannon Froehlich and the LSH Cross Country team will lead kids through a proper warm-up and focus on efficient running form. Participants will play various running games and have the opportunity to run in several youth cross country meets. Wednesdays, September 9, 16 & 23 4:45 - 5:30 p.m. $25 (includes a t-shirt) select size at registration Legion Park shelter in Le Sueur We will participate in three meets.
